I have installed transciption module and I am trying to open a file to listen and it doesn't open. What must I do to make it work?

To troubleshoot the issue with the transcription module in the "Olympus DSS Player Pro" program, you can try reinstalling the transcription module or checking if the file you are trying to open is in a compatible format with the program. It may also be helpful to check if there are any updates available for the program or contact the program's support for further assistance.
I have a desktop PC that has Windows 7, I installed my Olympus DDS Player Version 6.3, but it wouldn't work. I thought I needed a new foot pedal so purchased a RS27, but the foot pedal still won't work. I need some advice.

The problem is that none of the players released are not compatible with Windows 7. According to the information found on one of the Olympus websites, the application is compatible with the following Windows versions: Windows 2000, XP, and Vista.
If you are in Windows 7, right click the setup package and select Properties > Compatibility > Windows XP then attempt a possible installation. If it still doesn't work, then it means the application isn't compatible with Windows 7 at all. You need to find another alternative to DSS Player Pro.
Can you guide us through stage by stage as to how to get our foot pedal working? Last week we installed the DSS Player Pro but unfortunately the foot pedal does not seem to work at all.

The pedal needs additional drivers separated from the software install. Since it's a peripheric device, in most of the cases a driver is needed for Windows to recognize it. If you have a support CD, you can use it to install the required driver or simply contact the support section from the manufacturer website.
You can obtain the CD players from the official website of Olympus. Visit the website then scroll down to download them. You will have the possibility to download multiple versions of the CD/Audio players.
Will downloading the update on my computer inhibit my ability to do dictation if my boss does not have the updated version and I do?

There shouldn't be any problems, because if the output file has the same extension, then it should be compatible with the different versions of the software. In many cases, an update provides functionality fixes and resolves common errors. This means you should update your application and export/save the file to the same format used by the version of the software used by your boss.
To correct the issue of the program on your iPhone opening and closing immediately, you can try the following steps:
